All schools, regardless of whether they are in their first or full years of implementation, will be expected to holistically deliver all five pillars of the FRNYC programming, in required dosages, to all students that they are funded to support. Key Implementation Measures (KIMs) and FRNYC Designation are the system by which FRNYC schools are evaluated for their implementation of FRNYC; all KIMs are measured against the number of students that a school is funded for. In order to remain in good standing with the program and to be eligible for continued funding and potential future growth, schools will need to demonstrate that they are providing all five of these pillars for all of the students they are funded for as measured by the KIMs, and this will result in schools being identified as FRNYC Designated. Schools unable to meet FRNYC Designation requirements will be removed from the program for the subsequent school year.

In order to earn designation status, schools will need to meet 80% or more of the KIMs, as well as meet both of the critical KIMs, which measure the number of students identified as FRNYC students and the number of those students enrolled in FRNYC-aligned coursework. Full implementation, FutureReadyNYC schools from cohorts 1, 2 and 3 that are unable to meet these requirements on or before March 2026 will have funding reduced or be removed from the program for continued FRNYC funding in FY26-27. For additional details about the KIMs, reporting requirements associated with FRNYC, and FRNYC Designation, please see the Key Implementation Measures section in the FutureReady Playbook.
