FRNYC allocations outline individual school allocations generated based on the school's application and budget approved by the Office of Student Pathways during Spring 2025. Schools are expected to complete the spending plan that was shared with them in June by summer institute.
CRMYA funds are allocated for career-connected learning services from participating partner organizations, and purchasing other required materials, equipment, or curricular resources to support the implementation of the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship pilot. A majority of the funds should be allocated to staff time to fulfill CRMYA Pilot Team recommended roles and responsibilities to be shared by the Office of Student Pathways. Limited and budget availability contingent per session funding for teacher professional development will be paid for centrally through the Office of Student Pathways.
In an effort to provide effective fiscal oversight, schools are required to complete a spending plan following this use of funds guide and work with their designated DSL Budget Director and Senior Grant Officer (SGO) to schedule, commit and spend their allocation. Program teams will review and approve these plans. .
The Office of Student Pathways' Budget and Operations Team will conduct bi-monthly expenditure reviews to ensure that funding is being used for the stated purposes and is on target for 100% utilization.
Uses of Funds for FutureReadyNYC and Career Readiness & Modern Youth Apprenticeship:
- Staff salaries for teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, parent coordinators, community coordinators, social workers, paraprofessionals and staff identified as FRNYC and/or CRMYA Team Leads
- Direct student services providers to add capacity for delivery of college and career advising or build capacity for programming a 9-12 sequence of planning activities that align with the NYCPS Career Navigation Roadmap
- Instructional and advising resources to support college and career planning activities with students.
- Professional Staff Development & upskilling opportunities for staff to teach career-connected instruction courses and work-based learning management.
- Industry validated curriculum and credential fees
- Per diem to fund substitute teachers and/or single period coverages to support teachers' attendance at during-the-school-day professional learning experiences and pathway-related meetings
- Equipment necessary for successful implementation of pathway
- Equipment Maintenance and repair
- Supplies and materials for successful implementation of pathway
- Association fees
Note: Funds from this allocation cannot be used to cover student stipends, student wages and capital improvements.
