- An introduction to the Key Implementation Measures (KIMs)
FutureReadyNYC schools will develop and sustain programs focusing on select occupational titles within healthcare, technology, business/entrepreneurship, education, human and social services, and HVAC/Decarbonization.
What is the Full Implementation Model?
Full implementation describes schools which have offered FRNYC for at least one school year. For school year 25-26, all Cohort 1, 2, and 3 FutureReadyNYC schools will be in full implementation and will implement all five FRNYC core components for grades 9-12 starting in Fall 2025. For detailed information about the core components, go to the following FRNYC Core Component Section.
Note: Table represents a suggested grade-specific distribution of FRNYC core components. While the sequence and dosage of core components are critical, the Office of Student Pathways will work to support adaptations for occupational titles, student populations served, and school types (e.g., Transfers, District 75, Internationals).
What is the First-year Implementation Model?
First-year Implementation describes schools launching FRNYC for the first time. For school year 25-26, all Cohort 4 schools will follow First Year Implementation. First Year implementation schools must implement all five FRNYC core components in Fall 2025 covering grades 9-10 only, with the expectation that implementation will expand to all grades in SY26-27.
Note: First Year Implementation Schools should plan to offer Career Exploration coursework in 9th grade to support schools in developing a career ready cohort for subsequent school years. Schools may embed Career Explorations into their Pathway Introductory coursework or as a standalone course in the Fall / Spring. CRMYA hybrid schools will only need to offer Career Explorations as they normally do.
