This course introduces students to fundamental skills in data analytics by utilizing software such as Google Sheets and Python. Students explore activities that develop skills in data collection, cleanup, analysis, visualization,  modeling and communicating a data narrative. Students are given opportunities to demonstrate an understanding of organizing data, identifying emerging patterns in data, and communicating the narrative that appears from those patterns through visual representations. Students also explore topics in machine learning and data dashboard design. Specific focus is given to projects that pursue topics in social justice, community, and criticality.
